The wines of La Encomienda, from Valdepeñas, sweep the International New Wines Awards

The wines from Bodega La Encomienda de Valdepeñas have swept the International New Wines Contest, obtaining a “strike” on all their brands.

On June 14, the prestigious New Wine Awards 2018 International Contest was held in Madrid in its eleventh edition, where new national and international wines that have not been released before March 31, 2017 are evaluated. The jury awarded a total of 26 medals, 17 gold and 9 silver.

Singular wines

The Valdepeñera firm was the star of the contest, obtaining a gold medal in all its references, which highlights the La Encomienda project of making unique and exceptional wines “capable of surprising, giving value and prestige to our area, placing it as a model in the world wine panorama ”, they explain from La Encomienda.

Motivation

For the members of the winery “these awards stimulate, encourage and endorse the philosophy and premises of our company, focused on becoming a national and international benchmark in the production of quality wines.” In this sense, they add that “initiatives such as the one of this company serve as an example of entrepreneurship so that other projects take the marked witness, let the example spread”.

Orissón 2014

In the case of the Orissón wine from the 2014 vintage, it achieved one of the two Great Gold Medals that were awarded that year in the prestigious International New Wine Awards 2016 Competition within this contest, in which the aim is to recognize the quality of the new wines that appear on the market in the last year.

Oretano

In this same category, the other wine from La Ecomienda, Oretano, obtained a Silver Medal.

Gregorio López de Lerma, one of the owners of La Encomienda, has pointed out to Advaldepeñas that for them these recognitions represent “enormous satisfaction and recognition for a job well done, and even more so when you see the panel of tasters who have been a jury in the competition. . For La Encomienda it is a tremendous pleasure to have obtained these medals and encourages us to continue working on this wonderful project ”.
