This wine is a tribute to one of the most brilliant admirals of the Spanish Navy.
“Blas de Lezo y Olavarrieta, admiral born in 1689. He defeated all the enemies of Spain in his time. Nicknamed by his soldiers as ‘Half Man’ since he lost a leg, an eye, and an arm in battles he fought. His greatest victory was at Cartagena de Indias in 1741, where commanding 3,000 men and six ships, he defeated and humiliated 32,000 Englishmen led by Admiral Vernon with 180 ships. Neither enemies nor difficulties ever defeated him.”
