La Encomienda wines receive an award at the 2018 Supreme Wine International Competition


The wines of La Encomienda have obtained a new award for their showcases, a silver medal for ORISSON 2017 in the category of wines aged for less than 12 months, and which highlights the work of this family of farmers and their tireless spirit of elaborate prestigious wines to position our city as one of the reference areas in the production of quality wines.

A contest in which wines from all over the world have also participated that have obtained a Gold medal in other competitions and with a price range above 10 euros.

This vintage of La Encomienda is made up of a limited edition of 4,000 numbered bottles, carefully made with the Cencibel and Graciano varieties with a passage in used French oak barrels for 10 months, this wine obtained last June the EN gold medal THE INTERNATIONAL CONTEST OF NEW WINES.

As expected, the La Encomienda Wines once again surprised, at the hands of the famous Somelier Alfonso Gutiérrez Vázquez, in charge of directing and imparting the tasting organized by Grupo EvenPro, official event providers at the Westin Palace.

The current Director of Restoration of “El Pelícano” (Hotel Melia Castilla), Martinet Restaurant and Casa Lobo Restaurant, all of them in Madrid, showed the benefits of these volcanic wines.

The La Encomienda Wines were very well accompanied by “El Majuelo” Balsamic Vinegars from Rota, tasting a Reserve Sherry Vinegar and a Pedro Ximénez Sherry Vinegar.

All attendees were pleasantly surprised and fascinated by the product, as well as by the history of this project.

Not in vain all his references are reminiscent of Ibero Oretanas, in a clear allusion to our oldest past as a culture and society.

Events like this show the commitment of this family to produce unique wines, recognized nationally and internationally, with awards in different competitions that place Valdepeñas in the Olympus of quality wines.

ORETANO ROBLE: Volcanic, mineral and wild red wine with four months of aging in French oak barrels, made with the Cencibel and Syrah varieties with very intense nuances on the nose due to the meager production in the field (1.2 kg / vine) and to the environment of the undergrowth that surrounds the plot. Ideal for all types of cheese patés, white and red meats.

ORETANO: Elder brother of oak, with 8 months of barrel aging, which gives the complexity of the wood, the mineral characteristics of the volcanic soil where it is grown, where the varietal purity reaches its maximum splendor (Cencibel, Syrah and Cabernet Franc ). Ideal for all types of cheeses, pâtés and white and red meats.

ORISSON: Flagship product of the winery, a blend of Cencibel and Graciano, aged for 10 months in French oak barrels. The elegance, subtlety and complexity of this wine make it something exclusive, worthy of the most demanding and exquisite palates. A limited and numbered edition of only 4000 bottles. Ideal for all types of cheeses, pâtés and meats.
